An online food ordering system
for WordPress restaurants.

RestroPress is a free, standalone WordPress plugin for online food ordering. This page walks through everything in the core plugin, how a customer order flows from your restaurant menu to your kitchen, and how it compares with marketplaces and hosted platforms.

INSIDE THE FREE CORE PLUGIN

What the RestroPress food ordering system includes out of the box.

  1. 01

    Restaurant menu with food categories

Add unlimited food items, group them into food categories, and show each dish with a photo, description and price. Every dish gets its own food item page, and a category menu lets customers jump to the section they want.

  2. 02

    Add-on items and add-on prices

Create add-on categories such as sizes, toppings or sides, set an add-on price for each option, and attach them to any food item. Customers pick their add-on items in a popup before adding the dish to the cart.

  3. 03

Pickup and delivery with time slots

Offer pickup, delivery or both. Set service hours, let customers choose a service time, and apply a minimum order amount for delivery. Store Timings and Delivery Zone extensions add cutoffs and distance-based fees.

  4. 04

    A fast, mobile-friendly checkout page

Customers review their cart, apply a discount code, add order notes and pay on a single checkout page. Guest checkout is built in, so nobody has to create an account to place an order.

  5. 05

Order confirmation and order status updates

After payment, customers land on an order confirmation page and receive an email receipt. As your team moves an order from pending to accepted, processing, ready and completed, customers can follow the order status live.

  6. 06

    Order management for your team

New online orders appear in the WordPress admin with a sound alert and a pending order count badge. Open the order details page to see items, add-ons, payment status and customer notes, then update the status in one click or print the receipt.

  7. 07

    Customer accounts and order history

Returning customers can log in to see their order history, reorder favourites and update their details. Optional push notifications through the RestroPress apps keep them informed without extra work for your staff.

  8. 08

    Payments, taxes and discounts

Accept PayPal, Stripe and cash on delivery in the core plugin, with more gateways available as extensions. Configure tax rates, create discount codes, and set your currency and price format for your region.

  9. 09

    Translation-ready and theme-friendly

RestroPress works with any well-coded WordPress theme and is translation-ready, so you can run your online food ordering system in your own language with your own branding and colours.

Features listed reflect the free core plugin as published on WordPress.org. Dine-in ordering, delivery zones, store timings, rewards and the restaurant apps are paid extensions. See the full feature list or compare plans.

HOW ORDERING WORKS

How customers order
food online with RestroPress.

From the first tap on your menu to a completed order, every step happens on your own website.

Try it on the demo
  1. 01

    Browse the restaurant menu

Customers open your ordering page and scroll food categories such as starters, mains, drinks and desserts. A sticky category menu keeps the whole menu one tap away.

  2. 02

    Open a food item page

Each food item page shows the photo, description, allergens or notes you add, and the base price. If the dish has add-on categories, customers pick their add-on items here and the addon price updates the total.

  3. 03

Choose pickup or delivery and a time

Customers select a service type and a service time from the slots you allow. Minimum order rules and delivery fees apply automatically when the relevant extensions are active.

  4. 04

    Pay on the checkout page

The checkout page collects contact details, address for delivery, a discount code if they have one, and payment. Guest checkout means a first-time customer can finish in under a minute.

  5. 05

Confirmation, order status and order history

An order confirmation page and email arrive straight away. Customers can watch the order status change as your team accepts and prepares it, and every order is saved to their order history for easy reordering.

What your team sees

Every order lands in WordPress, with a clear next step.

Every online order lands in the RestroPress admin with a sound alert and a pending order count badge, so nothing is missed during a busy service. Open the order details page to see the food items, add-on items, service time, payment status and customer notes.

Accept, mark as processing, ready or completed, or cancel with a reason. Print the receipt to a thermal printer, or hand the order to the Kitchen Display, POS or Order Tracking app if you use them. The same order status your team sets is what the customer sees, so there is no separate system to keep in sync.
