Set up the Dine In tab
In RestroPress, Settings, Dine In, use General to pick the DineIn page, label, logos and payment options, Floor Setup to list your floors, and QR Generator to enter table IDs and generate a QR code for each table.

Print and place QR codes
Download the framed QR codes from QR Generator and place one at each table.

Add waiters and notifications
Optionally paste your Firebase details in Firebase Setup, create users with the Waiter role and assign their tables from the user profile. Guests then scan, order, call a waiter and request the bill from their phone.

A few things to know.
Do customers need to download an app?
No. Scanning the table QR code opens your full RestroPress menu in the phone browser, with categories, items and add-ons. There is nothing to install, which keeps the first order quick for a guest who has never visited before.
Is payment supported at the table?
Yes. Dine In works with the Stripe, Square, PayPal and Paytm gateways enabled on your site, with UPI payments through PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm, or with cash settled by staff. A setting decides whether guests choose a payment method before placing the order or only when they request the bill.
Do I need Firebase?
Only for push notifications. Ordering, call waiter and bill requests work without it. To notify guests when their order status changes and alert waiters in the Waiter app, paste a Firebase service account JSON, the web config and a VAPID key in the Firebase Setup section; a separate waiter project is supported if your Waiter app uses one.
Does each table get a unique QR code?
Yes. Dine In generates a unique QR code for every table from its settings page, so each order arrives tagged with the right table number. Print them on stands, menus or stickers and replace any that get damaged in a few clicks.
What is the waiter app feature?
Dine In adds a Waiter user role in WordPress and lets you assign specific tables to each waiter from their profile. Waiters use the RestroPress Waiter app to see their tables, place or edit orders for guests who prefer to be served, and receive call-waiter and new-order notifications. Guests can also send a change request for an order they have just placed, and cancelled orders carry a cancellation reason that the waiter can see.
