QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A few things to know.

Can I edit the default checkout fields?
Checkout Fields Manager controls its own form, which ships with First Name, Last Name and Email fields that you can relabel, reorder, add help text to or make optional. The phone, address and other fields that RestroPress core renders are not managed by this extension; you add your extra fields alongside them in the personal info or order details section.
How many custom fields can I add?
There is no hard limit. You can add as many custom fields as your checkout requires, in the personal info or order details section. In practice, a shorter form converts better, so add only what your kitchen or delivery team will actually use.
Are fields shown in order confirmation emails?
Yes. Whatever a customer enters is saved with the order and shown in the purchase receipt and admin sale notification emails, the admin order screen, the customer receipt and payment CSV exports. Fields stored as customer data also appear in the customer's profile editor, where they can update them.
Can I make a field required?
Yes. Each field has its own required or optional setting, and customers cannot complete checkout until required fields are filled. This is the simplest way to stop incomplete orders before they reach the kitchen.
