Set up a navigation menu
Create a menu under Appearance > Menus and assign it to your theme's header location, such as Primary, if you have not already.

Activate Menu Cart
Install and activate the plugin, then go to RestroPress > Settings > General > Menu Cart, tick Enable Menu Cart, choose an icon and pick Items Only, Price Only or Both Items and Price.

A few things to know.
Does it require a primary menu?
You need at least one WordPress navigation menu created under Appearance > Menus and assigned to a location your theme displays, such as Primary. Menu Cart appends the cart item to every menu your theme renders through the WordPress menu system, so if your theme shows a footer menu as well, the icon appears there too.
Can I show the cart total in the header?
Yes. Under What would you like to display in the menu, choose Price Only or Both Items and Price and the current cart total appears next to the icon in your store currency. The figure refreshes every second as customers add or remove items.
Can I choose which icon style is used?
Yes. Menu Cart ships with five SVG cart icons, and you pick one from the settings page. Choose the style that sits best with your theme and header colors.
Is this mobile-friendly?
The cart item is part of your WordPress menu, so on phones it appears wherever your theme places that menu, usually inside the mobile navigation drawer. Leave Always Display Cart unticked to hide the item when the cart is empty and keep a small header tidy.
