    Enable Tips in RestroPress settings

    Go to RestroPress > Settings > General > Checkout Options and tick Enable Tips on Checkout.

    Configure your tip options

    Choose Flat Amount or Cart Percentage, pick Predefined Tips Values, Custom Tips Entry or Both, enter the predefined values separated by commas, and set the heading, description, cart label and remove-tip label.

    Customers tip at checkout

    The tip buttons and the custom amount box appear on the checkout page. The tip is added to the order total as its own line, and customers can remove it with one click.

A few things to know.

Can customers enter a custom tip amount?
Yes. Set Tips Options to Custom Tips Entry or Both and customers can type any amount, including decimals, into the custom tip box next to your preset buttons. Many restaurants show three presets plus the custom box, which keeps the choice quick without capping generous tippers.
Can I use percentage and flat amount tips together?
You choose one style for the presets: either percentages of the cart subtotal, such as 10, 15 and 20 percent, or flat amounts. Percentages suit delivery orders of varying size, while flat amounts are simpler for small pickup orders.
Does the tip amount show on the order confirmation?
The tip is saved on the order as its own fee line with the cart label you choose, so it is listed in the checkout order summary. Add the {tips} email tag to your order email templates to print the amount, and enable the Admin Tips Column to see the tip for every order in the order history list.
Can I disable tips without uninstalling the extension?
Yes. Untick Enable Tips on Checkout under RestroPress > Settings > General > Checkout Options and the tip field disappears from checkout while your presets and message are kept for later. Switch it back on for the weekend rush in one click.
